Method
Each job type starts from a published 2026 market rate range for that work in the QLD/Brisbane bayside area. Where a job is priced per unit (a safety switch, a power point, a light fitting, a smoke alarm), "Small / Medium / Large" selects a typical unit count (for example, 1 / 3 / 6 power points) and multiplies the per-unit range by that count. Where a job is priced as a single job (a switchboard upgrade, a full rewire, an EV charger install), "Small / Medium / Large" selects a position within the same published range - Small toward the low end, Large toward the high end - rather than inventing a separate figure.

Assumptions
The calculator assumes standard access (no roof-cavity-only or multi-storey scaffold access), a QLD bayside Brisbane labour rate, and does not include GST, council permit fees, or any switchboard capacity upgrade that turns out to be needed for an unrelated job (for example, discovering during a power point job that the board also needs RCDs).
